Cattle slaughtering does not have to be inhumane, or cruel to the animal you intend to cull.
The animal does not have to be stressed out in the culling stage.
There are legislation underway for every member of the ECOWAS states to start doing this practice in hygienic conditions as well as humane ways.
We at Sierra Akker do not wait for such legislation to come into effect.
Instead, we will take the lead by putting procedures and equipment in place to match European and American standards.
It is for this reason we are bringing in an Abattoir equipment that would enable us to cull our cattle humanely.
Once in the facility, the animal would be calmed.
How do you achieve this: = we wash the cattle with warm water while on the conveyor belt, this will calm it down and by the time it got carried onto the guillotine, an injection is administered.
This injection would put the animal to sleep but all is a matter of seconds,
Once asleep, it will start to receive support to get it to the blades,
It is then supported fully up the rails to avoid touching the floor.
An animal that is culled this way would be a better taste than those killed with so much stress or inhumanely"
We will challenge anyone to first of all compare the taste of a locally slaughtered cattle with that of an Abattoir slaughtered one.
Besides, we have a fully qualified veterinary doctor who takes care of our animals and make sure they are fit for human consumption before we take them out for slaughtering.
